CIVT 2500 - Soil Mechanics

Course Description:
This course covers basic soil mechanics including index properties of fine and coarse soil, soil classification, stress analysis, permeability, compaction, strength concepts, and settlement/compressibility. The laboratory covers standard ASTM soil tests.

Perform standard tests according to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards.
Learn how to measure basic properties of soils.
Analyze and interpret lab data and develop good technical reporting and data presentation skills.
