Course Description:
This course will provide students of the knowledge and application of basic safety procedures in the agricultural workplace including current Occupational and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, CPR certification, and First Aid training.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
- Identify all at-risk activities and associated hazards of farm operations.
- Identify and implement controls for hazards to prevent an incident from occurring.
- Understand and ensure that OSHA guidelines are a priority in a farm business entity.
- Acquire OSHA General Industry Agriculture Certification.
- Acquire certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Attain First Aid training in order to efficiently aid employees or co-workers.
