Program Description: The Hospital and Tourism program will enable students to develop and practice the knowledge, skills, and tasks necessary for success as employees in the hospitality and tourism industry. The program will provide the student with a thorough understanding of the best practices and techniques employed in the management, marketing, and operations of lodging, food services, and travel-related services. 

 

Program Outcomes:  

  1. Apply the concepts and skills necessary to achieve customer/guest satisfaction  

  1. Maintain security and safety procedures  

  1. Conduct oneself in a professional and ethical manner, and practice industry-defined work ethics  

  1. Demonstrate ability to perform basic and supervisory level job functions in hospitality and tourism careers  

  1. Perform operations associated with sales in a variety of settings  

  1. Practice effective marketing and business promotion techniques  

  1. Explain the scope and elements of the hospitality and tourism industry. 

  1. Describe the day-to-day operations within the hospitality industry, including front desk management, housekeeping, and food and beverage service. 

  1. Describe food and beverage handling strategies including sanitation, safety, and state and federal regulation compliance. 

  1. Gain practical experience and build hospitality and tourism industry connections.
